I have the unoriginal theory that minifigures, creatures of imagination, can also access magical abilities based on the strength of their imagination sparks. Perhaps the effects of imagination are especially stronger or amplified in the Nimbus System, or on original Crux and anyplace based on or around Crux, where there was a large explosion of imagination energy with the destruction of Crux, or around an Imagination Nexus. We don't see a lot of imagination-based tech, powers, or abilities used in the KOTOS stories on Militiregnum. The effects of imagination as a source of energy and power are probably weaker the farther away one is from a Nexus.
Some of my Stromling Saga characters have superpowers which I base on them having overcharged imagination sparks. Were they born that way, or were they developed? Well, I still have to figure that out, but either way that's another take on people with superpowers in our universe.
Meanwhile Aura is completely independent from an Imagination Nexus. I appeciate its originality in our universe very much.
