Hmm. At the time he joined the rebellion, he could have entered the Corsair Wars. I wonder if the Elephanter rebellion worked independently or if it joined the pirates. During the last six years (9th-15th year), many people joined the Corsair Wars for all sorts of reasons: They wanted to become pirates anyway; to fight thedude; for honour and glory; for the loot (see #1); because it was a fashion and all of your friends had joined; because it all seemed very cool to you (the whole package); you were an outcast, a fugitive, an illegal anyway.
