I didn't read the whole thing, but it sounds like they think the current menu is more user-friendly than the expanded versions that wikia admins were creating. So their reasoning is probably something like: Better menu = more clicks = more ads = more money. If not that, I don't know why'd they want to control it so much. Or even more likely, it's: Worse menu = more clicks to get to what you want = more ads = more money. Yeah, I think that's probably it.

Yeah, I have no idea why they don't let anyone change the font anymore. :P
