I think it's mostly a double standard thing. Not too long ago, on TTTM, a mod said that a much more not-nice word was allowed which really bugged me because it was immediately followed by a long quote chain filled with the word. So I made a very professional-sounding post saying how I thought it shouldn't be allowed. >:) Very soon after which a different mod very firmly said that word was actually NOT allowed.
Yay me, I got a word banned from the LMBs! :P
And N_B was even able to mention bleeding and blood in his story!
