I know it's a bit late to say this after the map's been finished for months, but I always thought Elepharia was its own little continet (Like Austrailia) which is why the Skyfalls only affected it (it was isolated enough from the rest of the land that the gravitational anomoly caused by the moon only affected it.) I'm not saying we should change the map; I'm just declairing what I thought about it, since what I think about stuff is a topic about which I am very knowledgeable. :P
