On the day thedude appeared on chat, made by Theo, and accompanied by a BarneyBot, it was commented that that wasn't the real Barney, probably because the name was already taken. In response to that, Talmid created an account named TheRealBarney. He even commented on TheRealBarney's Message Wall: http://kotos.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:4796
Later on, TheRealBarney (in fact Talmid) replied "I am testing something". Not knowing what was going on, I ignored this.
More later on, I noticed someone had changed the Chat Welcome Message. Wanting to make my own changes (annoying little thing that is), I checked the recent changes and set it to MediaWiki pages only. I found Talmid had changed the MediaWiki:Chat-welcome-message, but also found he'd changed two more pages: http://kotos.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Welcome-message-user and http://kotos.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Welcome-user.
Apparently, he'd made it so that Barneybot01 greets new people and changed the text into what it is right now. It would seem that his earlier test was meant to trigger the greeting message, so that Talmid could see if the Barneybot would indeed welcome TheRealBarney.
So, Barneybot was never an admin. Mystery solved. Should I add detective to my user page? :P
