I don't know how to feel about that.  Suddenly, I'm getting some crazy Ideas, but I've always considered Harry Potter to be sorta... Inferior to LotR...

Nope, I'm going to investigate crazy Ideas. But perhaps I should read the books first. Only ever watched the movies, and at different times, over the span of a few years, the most recent being ages ago.
