I came to the perhaps mistaken conclusion that Mikhaila put him into Thunderclap but that is not necessarily true, things could have happened in between...
Whether it is five years later is debatable, I don't see how it's important, but Tain was probably immediately brought to Thunderclap Keep, assuming the dungeons were ready at the time.
