Yo, random idea that I just had that I'll throw out there:

What if Dewin Prentis is maintaining the anti-technology curse per Vladek's request? Perhaps Vladek could be intentionally hampering thedude so that he will have an easier time when he finally betrays him. Vladek's a knight, so I doubt he would like seeing a bunch of technology marring his land of Morcia anyway. Or, maybe Dewin Prentis isn't even maintaining the anti-technology curse at all. Perhaps when KotOS find Prentis, they are surprised to find out that Prentis is not the cause of the curse, and later they find out that Vladek is actually the one keeping the curse alive.

Of course, the current version of the story works too. These were just some ideas I had when I was brainstorming about KotOS, so I thought I'd throw them out there to get your guys' opinions.

I don't think Vladek would be able to do it, for the enchantment is in the Book of Ankoria, which is currently in the possession of Dewin's. Thought Dewin could have explained it to him (but not shown the book, because then Vladek would want to steal it)

Perhaps, when Vladek leads thedude to Mt. Scary (for he couldn't do otherwise) to confront the Sorcerer, thedude orders Vladek to search the place. Vladek finds Dewin, but instead of smashing him, he asks him who he is. Realising, his the Sorcerer's Apprentice he threatens to smash him if he doesn't uphold the Enchantment and then leaves. Dewin would probably have tried to uphold it anyway due to his respect for his master, but a death threat is always good for extra motivation.

Lately, I had an idea of writing an AM about thedude and the Sorcerer's confrontation. It would probably be short, not add anything new and I don't now if I'd really do it, but I found a cool name for it: The Quieting of Mt. Scary.

Fair enough. How about thedude and Vladek go to Mt. Scary, and the Paradox Rogues & red mythrans attack Dewin. Dewin uses his magic skillz to fend them off, and suddenly Vladek smashes all the remaining trrops to remove any wittnesses that Dewin is alive. Dewin thanks him, but Vladek replies "your life means nothing to me" or something mean and Vladek-y like that. :P Vladek reports to thedude that Dewin was smashed, but that the enchantment is persisting even after his death.

I'm sure Dewin could probably defeat the Rogues & Red Mythrans on his own, but then thedude would just keep sending swarms of more and more troops until he was defeated, and this way gives more insight into Vladek's (awesome) character. :P
