Two days prior refers to before Rowana's latest dealing with Charles, that occured across two days, from Chapter 1 through the end of Chapter 19.
There is actually a TM connection, although it is not intended to be explicit, it's not even referenced. You're just supposed to know what is established in the ending of this story proceeds to motivate the applicable characters in TM: in this case, the only consistent character is Rowana. At the end of TM, she ships Flumberfluff Aiden and Kate for some reason. What she wants is to create a better life for herself, not just going forward but also backward, as in making another dimension where her life would be better. It seems possible now given the crazy things she's seen occur, the creation of dimensions which she even asks about, and other crazy things she doesn't even know what to think about, specifically Charles building an entire dimension about himself, or tekkin ova himself from the Charles Dimension, either effectively or literally. She's clearly interested in creating a new dimension; what's unclear is she wants to transplant herself into it - however, the creating a new dimension part is unnecessary if in another dimension she already exists, or can be made to exist... When I get round to editing the story, I'll give this more attention.
This is also what Flumberfluff Aiden's chance was. He hasn't figured it out, but that isn't entirely his fault. It's also Rowana's fault, but not entirely either. They're both flawed people, their ideas are flawed, their communication is flawed, they don't even know what they really want and how to get there, because if they think about it too much, it becomes so nonsensical will they even want it anymore? Kate's no angel either, but for better or worse she gets an entirely different mess to deal with.
The Maelstrom... it could be that the Bablabla and Flumberfluff Maelstroms are working together now. Bablabla is back, after all, but thedude's alliance is with Flumberfluff Darky. Leading up to that, the eventual creation of the Unverse Drive, and the [REDACTED] [MARSHALLED], I mean the Rhoddwr Marwolaeth, is the result of that sideplot, yes. They may use tech from the Spectre's gun that can blow up entire starships for the RM's smol guns that can blow up entire starships. The superlaser, however, is from the ââââââââââââ, I mean the Death Star.
Tertiary Positioning as in the maneuver is not utilized, no. But should someone use it, it is how they would enter a location such as Intrepid's soul world. Particularities means something specific among multiple versions of that thing. The steps aren't outlined but they are to first enter the surrounds of that target, then seek that target. The surrounds of that target could even be Unverse itself.
