Revisiting To Defy Doom, and it's characters, I was reminded of this song that spurred a scene that I never wrote, seeing as it would have meant quite a big detour in the form of a flashback that ultimatly didn't have enough to do with the story at hand. So even though it may be confusing, I really don't think it's any more or less clear than the original song anyway, so I'mma just gunna try it.
This is from the viewpoint of the Mrs. Richardson and Bethany meeting Mrs. Silverstine and Emily, who all show up in TDD as part the 'JC Merchants' Caravan.

Sometimes you're better off dead
There's a gun in your hand and another at your head
You think they're all mad, they're too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in the last Western town
Don't call the guards, we don't want them around
Running down underground
To a dive bar to not be found.
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Western Girls.
Too many shadows whispering voices
Faces on posters reflecting your choices
If when why what how much have you got
Have you got a ticket,
If so how far then?
Which Caravan, choose
An East or West option
(How far do you need to go?)
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Western girls
Western girls
(Interlude)
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Ooh the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Western girls
She's turned a heart of glass into a heart of stone
One cannot believe how she talks of home.
We've got no future
We've got no past
We're here today but nothing lasts
In every city and every nation
From Morcia to an unknown destination
(How far have you been)
In the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Ooh the last Western town with the name of Leer
With Easterner boys and Western girls
Western girls
Western girls
Western girls
(How far have you been)
