Oh wait. I get it now. Rowana hasn't changed dimensions, yet, she's just disappeared. And in the last sentence you're not talking about Kate, but Red. That is very ambiguous and while it's a very cool sentence to end your story with, perhaps you should try to make it a bit clearer.
In that case, I hope you don't actually intend for Kate to stay on her home planet.
