Immediately, a Borg Cube suddenly appears, and destroys the Sovereign with incredible ease... An armada of 4 Excelsiors are ambushed and destroyed by 1 Borg Battle Sphere. Battle Spheres aren't usually that powerful... While investigating a subspace rift, a Generations Class vanishes mysteriously...
Part 1
Fleet Captain Talmid sat happily in his Captain's chair sipping a hot cup of tea. It had been a good day on the Talmidon, and everything was going smoothly.
Ensign Brad Tylers walked up to the Fleet Captain and handed him a report.
"Ship sensors reported functional, transwarp drive online and ready." Tylers said.
Talmid took the datapad and looked over it. Nothing of interest, really.
"Captain, we are picking up a distress call." helm officer Lt. Albert Kyle said. "It's from the USS Ghandi. It's on audio only."
"Put it through." Talmid said. He sat up straight.
The distress call played. "This is the US(static) Gh(static)i! To any starship (static) (garbled) subspace dis(garbled)-"
"The transmission has cut." Albert said.
"Set a course for their last known position, max transwarp! Red alert, all senior officers to the bridge!" Talmid ordered.
5 seconds later, the Talmidon arrived at the scene.
5 seconds after that, Commander Gary Vermont arrived at the bridge.
"On screen." Talmid said.
A lone Borg Sphere was hovering over the debris of an Ambassador Class Starship. It didn't appear to be doing anything.
"Lock on transporters, beam up any survivors." Gary ordered.
"Survivors are aboard, sir." the chief medic guy said over the comm.
"Raise the shields, charge Borg-B-Gone canons." Talmid said. "Fire."
Two Orange beams of destructive energy shot out of the wingtips of the Talmidon. They streaked over to their Borg target...
...and flew right through it.
"WHAT?!?!" Talmid shrieked. "Don't tell me the Klingons manufactured these too!"
"Sir, they are firing!" an officer yelled.
Green cutting beams shot out from the sphere and broke through the Talmidon's shields. They slammed hard into the hull of the saucer, damaging it nearly beyond repair.
Part 2
Ensign Tylers flew across the bridge and landed in a pile of pillows stacked at the back of the bridge.
The bridge was in chaos. People screamed frantically as the crew tried to get the shields back up.
"Damage report-!" Talmid screamed.
A crewman said, "Hull breach on decks 7 to 13 in sections E, F-" a conduit exploded.
Talmid acted quickly in order to save his crew. "Gary, evacuate everyone to the saucer section." Talmid said.
"Yes, but then what?" Gary asked.
"We will operate manual saucer separation procedures." Talmid said. "There is an emergency warp core on the saucer, get to any Federation system." the bridge shook as another wave of energy slammed the Talmidon. "I'll meet some crew in the battle bridge, we'll hold off the Borg until you escape."
"Aye sir." Gary said. Talmid stood up. "Dave Barker, Tylers, Kyle, you're with me. Good luck Captain." Talmid said to his First Officer. He went with his officers into a turbolift.
They arrived in the Battle Bridge without incident. Talmid sat down in the Captain's chair. It wasn't as comfy as he had expected. Some other crew had already assembled at the controls.
"Begin saucer seperation procedures, manual." Talmid said. "The initial attack blew up our automatic controls."
Ensign Tylers sat down at a console. He began releasing the docking clamps.
"We're ready Gary." Talmid said to Gary over the comm. "Charge your impulse engines, and then warp out of here."
The saucer separated from the main hull. It turned hard to starboard and then jumped to warp.
"Fire, full phaser spread, all torpedo banks fire!" Talmid ordered.
The Talmidon fired its weapons. Phasers shot out at the Borg Sphere, which oddly went right through it.
"Captain, the Borg ship is hailing us." Lt. Kyle said.
"On audio." Talmid said. "Weirder and weirder..." he muttered to himself.
Some unintelligible sounds played, and then main power went out.
Then the sphere fired an energy projectile. It glowed eerily white and became larger as it grew nearer.
Just as emergency power turned on, the white glow engulfed the Talmidon. Then the Borg Sphere, the Talmidon, and the white glow, vanished.
Part 3
The Talmidon roared into a small area full of small ships, including a 400 year old Romulan Battlewing!
"Give me a damage report." Talmid ordered.
"Minor hull breaches on decks 4 through 11." Ensign Tylers said.
"Run a full sensor scan, long range." Talmid said.
"Sensors show a Centaur Class, a few Bombardier Class starships, a Romulan Battlewing, and a 23rd Century Klingon Bird of Prey. There are also numerous Borg outposts and Star Bases lying outside this sector." Lt. Kyle said.
"Sir, we are being hailed," a random Ensign said. "By the Centaur Class, identified as the USS Lancaster."
"The Lancaster was lost more than 100 years ago!" Talmid exclaimed. "Open a channel!"
"This is Captain Harley McDonnel of the USS Lancaster." the Captain of the Lancaster identified himself. "We see these 'Borg' have caught another one of our Federation counterparts."
"And I am Fleet Captain Talmid of the USS Talmidon," Talmid said. He chuckled a little. "Actually, half of the USS Talmidon."
"One of the Bombardiers is requesting a channel." Tylers said. "Actually, all of the other ships are!"
"Standby." Talmid said to Captain Harley McDonnel. The channel closed. "Open a channel with the lead Bombardier." The channel opened. "This is Fleet Captain Talmid of half the USS Talmidon. You requested a channel?"
"Thank you, Fleet Captain." said the Captain of the Bombardier. "I am Captain Glen. There are two other Bombardiers here, they were part of my combat patrol group before the Borg captured us here. Hey wait, wasn't the Talmidon destroyed just a few days ago?"
"You mean years." Talmid corrected him. "This is half of the refitted USS Talmidon II. Flagship of Minuteman Division. With any luck, we'll be leaving."
"I don't think that will be possible, Fleet Captain," the other Captain said. "As we are stranded in the Andromeda Galaxy, more than 2 million Lightyears from our galaxy."
Dun dun dun duuuuuuuun
Part 4
Meanwhile at the SSF Starbase 816, a battle was taking place.
8 Escargot Class starships were engaged by a small fleet of Borg ships. In less than 1 minute, 5 were obliterated and no damage done to the Borg.
Two Star Fleet vessels, the USS Galaxia and USS Generations responded to the SSF distress call, and rushed to help their SSF friends.
So far, the battle was not going well. The initial assault knocked out Starbase 816's weapons, and they were offline.
General Lonewolfli ran madly around his starbase's bridge. He looked out a window and looked in horror as the USS Galaxia took a direct hit to its bridge.
"How long till we can get the weapons back online!?" he yelled to one of his snail crew.
"In more than 5 hours, sir." the snail answered slowly.
"What if we transfer power from some of our subsystems?" Lonewolfli glanced out of the window and saw one of his Escargots disintegrate.
"We could transfer power from the sensors." the snail officer said.
"But we need them for targeting." Lonewolfli grew impatient. "Transfer power from the shields."
"But sir, that will leave us vulnerable..."
"It is a risk we have to take," Lonewolfli said.
"Okay, sir." the snail officers began the power transfer. "Shields are down, weapons are up."
Lonewolfli began looking for a good target. "That tactical cube isn't doing anything, like fighting. To all ships, focus fire on the tactical cube. All weapons fire!"
The starbase fired its weapons on a regular Borg Cube.
"No! I said at the tactical cube!" Lonewolfli screamed.
"Oops. Sorry sir." the snail officer said.
The starbase and the remaining ships fired their weapons on the Borg Tactical Cube. It exploded, as did the rest of the Borg ships!
"Status report!" Lonewolfli ordered.
"We have sustained minor damage, and all Borg ships have been destroyed." a random snail guy said.
"I am going to want to know more about how that all happened," Lonewolfli said. "And I doubt it will be to my liking."
Part 5
Back in Andromeda...
After conducting some research and sensor scans, the Talmidon crew discovered that the Borg Starbases had some sort of technology that makes warping and transwarping impossible.
Even though the other Star Fleet captains warned against it, Talmid ordered his crew to start blowing up the Borg starbases in an attempt to get transwarp drive back online.
"We are nearing some of the Borg bases, sir." Brad Tylers said. He was manning the helm.
"Fire the Borg-B-Gone canons!" Talmid ordered.
"Weren't the Borg-B-Gone canons useless before?" a random officer asked.
"The sphere we attacked wasn't a normal sphere. I think the canons should work against these Borg ships." Talmid explained. "Why aren't we firing yet? Fire! Fire! Fire!" Talmid remembered saying something like that in the Undine War.
The Borg-B-Gone canons and a few torpedo launchers fired, and obliterated one of the Borg Starbases.
"Target the next one, fire!" Talmid said. 1 down, 2 down, 3 down... Talmid watched as the Borg Bases went boom.
"Captain, Borg cubes approaching!" Ensign Tylers alerted the Fleet Captain.
Talmid began giving orders. "Arm phasers, prepare to-"
One of the smaller cubes fired, and a bright blue beam of energy struck the Talmidon's aft.
"What?!" Talmid yelled. "Weren't the shields up?"
"They were, but the blast knocked them out!" a Lt. said. A conduit blew near him that sent him flying into a nearby pile pillows.
"Get us out of here!" Talmid ordered.
Ensign Tylers turned the Talmidon away from the cubes and gunned the engines at full impulse. The Borg ships didn't give pursuit.
Back at the SSF Starbase 816 (credit to Lonewolfli), General Lonewolfli and Commander Gary Vermont were discussing the easy defeat of the Borg attackers.
"The battle logs found in the USS Galaxia show that the Tactical Cube was emitting a powerful power source." Gary said.
"And then after the explosion, the subspace plane in this sector was damaged slightly." Lone said. "Maybe they were using mini-omega molecules!"
"But that still doesn't explain why the Borg ships blew up." Vermont said. "Unless the Tactical Cube was transferring the power to the other ships. The explosion would have caused a chain reaction."
"I bet that's it." Lonewolfli said. "The Borg ships were more powerful than expected. That supports your hypothesis."
Gary nodded. "However, we still need to find ways to defend ourselves against the Borg in the future, but if they are going to start using 'regular' Omega Molecules, they may be unbeatable."
Part 6
The Talmidon limped back to the other starships from its failed mission.
Talmid was upset. He was wondering, 'How are we ever going to get home?'
Tylers slowly maneuvered the damaged ship back to the rest of the ships. Then, Talmid thought of a plan.
"Would it be possible to create an artificial wormhole?" he said.
"Technically yes," Tylers said. Even though he was sitting at the helm, he had been appointed as science officer for the team. "But we don't have enough power to do it on our own."
Talmid didn't give up. "Open hailing frequencies with the other starships." The channel opened. "Who wants a free ride back to the Milky Way?" Talmid said.
"You said that already." one of the captains said.
"Com'on, all we have to do is shoot loads of power from out deflector dishes out into space and create an artificial wormhole." Talmid said.
The other captains finally agreed, and the group of ships tore off in the direction of the Milky Way.
"We will have to divert power from life support, Captain." Tylers pointed out.
"Doesn't matter, if we fail, we won't need life support." Talmid said.
"Yes sir." the Ensign said.
Talmid gave the order. "To all ships, now!"
Immediately beams of energy shot out of the deflector dishes on the starships. In just a few minutes, a small wormhole opened, and it steadily grew larger.
Apparently, the wormhole attracted numerous Borg ships, or maybe it was Talmid's communication with 'all' ships.
An officer cried out, "Sir, Borg Ships approaching, bearing-"
*boom!*
An Borg cutting beam tore open a bulkhead on the wing, causing the ship to swing and rock.
The Romulan Battlewing was consumed by the green beams of energy, and one of the Bombardiers was destroyed as well.
"We only have 1 minute to enter the wormhole!" Talmid said. "We have to go now! Full power to-!"
The Talmidon tore into the wormhole and shuddered violently. The others ships entered as well.
At starbase 816 (credit to Lonewolfli), the crews of 5 SFS Escargots and the station watched as a wormhole opened and 5 ships flew out.
Lonewolfli recognized the USS Talmidon II instantly. "Open channels!" he ordered to his crew. "Talmid! Thank goodness you're alright!" he said happily over the comm.
"Great to see you too, but don't celebrate too soon! The Borg are back!" Talmid said.
A mean looking Borg Fleet entered through the wormhole, and in the lead was a monster cube, much larger than the rest, and much more powerful.
Part 7
Just as the giant Borg Cube left the artificial wormhole, it collapsed on some of the other Borg vessels attempting to leave.
The snail ships immediately fired their phasers, torpedoes, blasters, and canons at the Borg attackers.
The other starships that were captured by the Borg fled to starbase 816 (credit to Lonewofli).
"Turn us around to face the Borg." Talmid said. "Fire all phasers and torpedoes."
A load of firepower swept from the Talmidon. If the saucer had been connected at the time, the barrage of weapons fire would doubled.
Phaser beams streaked sizzled against the hull of the Borg ships. Many of them exploded.
Talmid looked at the viewscreen and noticed something peculiar. "Lt., what are those saucers doing?" Talmid asked Lt. Albert Kyle.
"They appear to be housing large sources of power," Albert said. "They are transferring the power to that Borg Cube!"
"Open a channel with that snail ship!" Talmid ordered. "SSF Snaily A, lock your weapons onto that Borg Saucer!"
"They're ready." Ensign Tylers said.
"Fire your dorsal phaser array, full power!" Talmid said.
The SSF Snaily fired its dorsal phaser array and a few of its torpedoes at the Borg Saucer. The weapons fire bashed the Borg ship to bits. Shortly after, a portion of the Borg Cube was torn off the main structure.
"DESTROY THE SAUCERS!" Talmid screamed.
The Talmidon fired its phasers like a storm. The Borg Saucers and many of the other Borg ships were destroyed, and the large Borg Cube exploded into a violent ball of energy, which consumed many of the surrounding ships and some of the Snail ships as well.
The shockwave slammed the Talmidon and the bridge crew were all knocked out of their seats and off their feet into a large pillow pile in the back.
"Damage report!" Talmid screamed as alarms blared and part of the bridge exploded and blew off into space. The strong vacuum sucked all objects that were not attached to the ground out into the vast deepness of space. Talmid and his bridge crew held onto other objects for dear life.
Brad Tylers found himself slipping towards the hull breach with incredible speed. He shouted and screamed as he was torn off the floor...
... and into an emergency force field.
He slumped to the floor and breathed heavily at his terrible experience.
"That was too close."
Part 8
The SSF forces fought valiantly, but even with the loss of their monster cube the Borg gained the upper hand.
In a short while, the only surviving allied ships were the USS Talmidon, Starbase 816, and 3 Escargots.
*kabloom!*
Er, make that 2 Escargots.
Lonewolfli dashed around his Starbase's bridge and punched the firing controls. Beams of phaser energy fired from his starbase and slammed on a Borg Battle Sphere, but the the sphere just absorbed the shots.
Lonewolfli was in a rage. "Fire all the weapons!" he ordered. No one heard him. He looked down at the floor. Many of his snail crew were hiding in their shells on the floor.
The Borg Battle Sphere closest to the starbase fired its Spectre-like (credit to Star-Hunter) beam weapon which tore open part of the base's hull.
An incoming transmission came from the Talmidon.
"General, its useless to stay and fight, the Borg have adapted to all our weapons." Talmid said.
"Ours too." Lonewolfli said. "But I can't leave my starbase to be destroyed by the Borg!" he said. Suddenly a guy who looked like a rough space pirate with a blaster and a Borg Drone beamed onto the starbase.
"Aah!" Lonewolfli screamed when the pirate guy raised his blaster. "Get us out of here NOW!"
The Talmidon started transporting Lonewolfli and his snail crew onto the Talmidon, but for some reason the transport was being interrupted.
"Sir, transport is failing!" Albert Kyle yelled frantically on the Talmidon's bridge.
"Full power to the transporters, get them out of there!" Talmid ordered.
"Beam us up!" Lonewolfli cried as the pirate guy started laughing evilly. "Beam us up! Beam us up! Beam us-"
Lonewolfli and the snails were transported over to the Talmidon. The pirate and Borg Drone then were transported back to the Borg ship they originated from, and then the bridge exploded.
"SSF troops are aboard, sir." Brad Tylers said.
"We're getting out of here." Talmid said. "We'll rendezvous with the rest of the fleet at the Glintara system."
"Glintara, that's so close to Romulan space!" Tylers exclaimed.
"But it is the closest system to us," Talmid said. "And maybe we can the Romulans to help us too." the bridge rumbled as Borg cutter beams started cutting away at the Talmidon.
"Why aren't we moving already? Oh." Talmid realized. "Divert all power to the engines, set a course for Glintara, maximum Transwarp, engage!"
The ship screeched.
"Tranwarp drive is offline Captain!" Lt. Albert said.
"Then warp!" Talmid said. He rolled his eyes and sighed as the Talmidon jumped to warp.
Part 9
A small yet powerful fleet of starships was stationed at the Glintara System.
Federation, SSF, Romulan, and even Klingon ships were waiting for the impending Borg attack.
In the briefing room of the USS Talmidon, there was a discussion with the commanders of the different ships.
Fleet Captain Talmid, General Lonewolfli, Captain SamMercury, Captain IbuggabuggaDalien, Captain Praetus of the Romulan Star Empire, and Commander Metrek of the Klingon Empire were seated in the room.
"My superiors have agreed to send 4 Warbirds if necessary." Captain Praetus said. "But only 4. And you will be responsible for their destruction." he added.
"Honorless..." Commander Metrek muttered under his breath.
"Hey, listen," Captain Sam Mercury said. "We're allies, and the Borg is our common enemy. If we don't work together now then-"
"We shall die in honor!" the Klingon commander finished. Sam rolled his eyes.
IbuggabuggaDalien spoke up. "Many of my ships are locked in deadly combat with the Borg in Sector 792. So we won't be getting any reinforcements from me, sadly."
"Then again, who said that the Borg are behind this?!" Lonewolfli said. Everyone looked at him. "Those guys who beamed over to my starbase, one of them was NOT a Borg!" Lonewolfli exclaimed. "He looked like a pirate, or a mercenary, or some guy like that!"
"You're sure you weren't hallucinating, General?" Captain Praetus inquired. "All of you, especially the Klingon, have been acting weird throughout this entire conversation."
Commander Metrek let out a loud shriek, and stood up, knocking his chair down to the floor.
"Gentlemen!" Talmid yelled. "The real enemy is the Borg, not eachother!"
"And the pirates." Lonewolfli added.
"Pirates..." Talmid mumbled. "Pirates and the Borg, hm, this doesn't really sound so good."
"So you do believe me?" Lonewolfli said.
Talmid began saying, "I wish I didn't have to, but-" The Fleet Captain was interrupted by the red alert alarm.
"Borg." Sam said. He pressed his combadge. "USS Mercury, beam me over." SamMercury transported to his bridge. The other captains, commanders and general did the same.
The Fleet Captain remained. He stared out the window, at the incoming Borg Fleet, and the battle that was going to take place.
Part 10
The battle began.
The small allied fleet immediately opened fire.
"Fire!" Sam Mercury ordered to his crew. Phasers streaked from the USS Mercury like rain.
"Fire all phasers!" IbuggabuggaDalien said on his bridge. Phasers fired straight ahead at one of the large cubes, but minimal damage was done, if any.
The USS Generations was dealt a deadly blow to its saucer by a Borg cutting beam from one of the large cubes. Its tough armor was all that kept it from being blown to pieces.
The USS Confederation moved in behind the Generations and dealt deadly phaser beams on the attacking cube, but the beam weapons were useless. The Borg had found a way to adapt.
The USS Talmidon and the other ships near it fired streams of phaser fire all over the battle. The Borg ships would normally be destroyed quickly, but they withstood the onslaught.
Slowly, the allied ships lost their shields, and hull integrity was decreasing rapidly.
All seemed lost. Until...
"Captain, several transwarp signatures detected!" Ensign Tylers screamed. "They could be Borg-"
"Or Federation allies!" Talmid exclaimed.
Talmid was right. At least 100 Federation starships warped into the system. The immediate weapons fire doomed the Borg ships to major damage. More than 75% of one of the large Borg Cube's hull was consumed by the destructive energy.
Within moments, one of the large cubes was destroyed, and several of the smaller ships as well. But even that victory came with a cost. Before destruction, the Borg ships managed to destroy 20 of the Federation ships, and another 10 were destroyed in the explosion.
The Federation and its allies were no match for the Wrath of the Borg.
Part 11
Even with the help of the reinforcements and the destruction of the smaller Borg ships, the allied fleet was still at a heavy disadvantage. The large cube was sustaining heavy damage, but was still operational and firing its deadly beams and projectile weapons at the damaged ships.
The Talmidon bridge shook and rumbled. The emergency force fields wouldn't hold out much longer, and hull breaches were appearing on all the decks.
Talmid became desperate, and made a big decision. "Set a collision course, prepare for ramming speed!" Talmid ordered.
"Yes, uh, Captain." Lt. Albert Kyle said uneasily.
"Think Star Fleet will make another Talmidon?" Gary Vermont asked.
Talmid answered. "Yes, but it wouldn't be the same without the real crew." tears formed in his eyes.
"Course plotted, awaiting your order." Ensign Brad Tylers whimpered.
Talmid stood up. "Enga-"
On one side of the large cube, numerous SSF Escargots jumped out of warp and engaged the cube with phasers and torpedoes blaring. On the other side, MAF vessels jumped out of warp(?) and fired their numerous turbolasers and phasers.
MIGHTYMAN503 was in the lead in the MS-7 Defiance. A short while before, a general distress call came from the battle. MIGHTYMAN's fleet and a fleet of SSF ships had picked up the distress call and raced to help their allies.
"Fire all turbolasers!" MIGHTYMAN ordered. "Load torpedo tubes, standby for launch!"
The first MAF ships to enter the battle fired their weapons. Numerous beams of energy slammed the Borg cube. At the same time, the SSF ships fired their canons. The weapons fire from all sides damaged the Borg Cube's hull armor.
Back on the Talmidon, Talmid realized that they were on the winning side... again.
"Fire all weapons!" Talmid ordered.
"Yes sir!" "Sir yes sir!" the bridge crew replied.
With weapons fire furiously smashing the cube on all sides, except the top and bottom, the Borg ship's hull began to crumble. It collapsed, and exploded in a violent flash of light, heat and energy. Several ships were damaged in the explosion. The light dimmed, and the battle was over.
Talmid breathed a sigh of relief. "To all ships, set a course for SSF Starbase 816, we're not stopping here. Even the wrath of these cyborg machines is powerless in the face of teamwork." Talmid said. "Engage, maximum warp!"
Part 12
The allied fleet had lost and gained several ships. The Romulan and Klingon ships had been too damaged and had stayed back at Glintara. The forces of Minuteman Division joined the USS Talmidon and the rest of the fleet in warp to the SSF Starbase 816.
The USS Confederation was the largest ship in the fleet, and had the largest conference room in the fleet as well. Fleet Captain Talmid, Admiral Mightyman, General Lonewolfli, Captain SamMercury, Captain IbuggabuggaDalien, and the holograms of the Klingon and Romulan commanders were seated around the massive conference table in the conference room.
Lonewolfli's eyes were teary. "My starbase, my flagship, no, no..."
Talmid handed the SSF officer a handkerchief. Lonewolfli took it and wiped his tears. He looked up and noticed everyone was staring at him. He immediately made himself look as presentable as possible. Slowly the eyes turned away.
Talmid cleared his throat. "We have just won a victory against the Borg in the Glintara System, but the casualties were very high. We have more ships now, but we do not know what could be waiting for us at Starbase 816."
SamMercury added a suggestion. "Maybe we should try a different weapon, maybe turbolasers."
"I think I have a solution!" Mightyman yelled. "The Borg use lasers, correct?"
Ibuggabugga nodded eagerly. "Your ships are armed with lasers! Are you suggesting that the Borg will be vulnerable to your laser canons?"
"Yep." Mightyman said.
The Romulan and Klingon Commander Holograms nodded their heads as well.
"Okay, here's the basic plan of attack." the Fleet Captain said. "The MAF forces will attack the Borg head on while the rest of the fleet will provide cover fire. The Bumblebee Supply Ships and the Oberth Medical Ships will attempt to board starbase 816. They'll salvage all salvageable information, and hopefully your flagship." Talmid glanced to Lonewolfli, who smiled gratefully.
The ship suddenly rocked. The red alert went off, and the lights dimmed. "Battle time." Talmid said.
Talmid beamed back to the Talmidon's bridge. "Report." he ordered.
Dave Barker read the report. "Sensors show that there is a battle right around Starbase 816. SSF starships appear to be attacking a fleet of Borg vessels. The SSF appear to be losing. Also, the base's weapons are online and are dealing heavy damage to the SSF ships."
Part 13
Talmid groaned. "If the base's weapons are online, then we stand no chance." He suddenly jumped from his chair to the viewscreen and squinted his eyes. "Hey, if the Borg assimilated the station, then it would be firing cutting beams, which are green. But it is firing yellow phaser beams! This is weird!"
"That means the station isn't assimilated yet!" Gary said. "We may still have a chance to save Lonewolfli's flagship and the other information on the base!"
Talmid nodded, but added grimly. "Something tells me there is more to this than just the Borg." Talmid sat back down on his chair. "Open a channel with Lonewolfli."
"Channel open."
Talmid began. "Lonewolfli, that other person you saw on the station who wasn't Borg,"
Lonewolfli nodded. "If I'm correct, he looked a lot like a space pirate person."
"Yes, and I am beginning to think that the Borg aren't completely on their own here." Talmid said. "We're going to need to take back the station, immediately."
Lonewolfli nodded again, and closed the channel.
"To all ships," Talmid said. "Fire at will."
The fleet opened fire, phasers sizzling the hull of the Borg ships and torpedoes creating explosions as they hit their Borg targets.
The Oberth and Bumblebee transports arrived outside the star base's shields. At the same time, several of the Borg ships diverted their fire to the small vulnerable transports.
Mightyman noticed the Borg's change of target. "Quick, take out those Borg ships!" he ordered. The MAF ships fired their lasers, which easily destroyed the Borg attackers. Meanwhile, Lonewolfl's SSF ships tore down the base's shields with their canons. The Federation ships were also dealing heavy damage to the Borg, the main ships being the Talmidon, Confederation, Reliance, Canis Major, and the Kosmos.
The Confederation roared into the battle, providing cover fire for the SSF ships and helping the MAF ships take out the smaller Borg ships. The Talmidon and Canis Major rushed to the Confederations sides as the Borg Cubes began firing on the large vessel. The smaller Federation SSF and MAF ships were close behind the larger ones. Victory was imminent.
"Sir, landing parties have boarded the star base." Ensign Tylers said.
Talmid grinned. "Good, concentrate torpedo fire on that Borg Cube." His smile vanished as a transwarp conduit suddenly appeared next to the starbase and a giant cube came out.
"Oh no!" Talmid screamed. "No! No! Not again!!"
Part 14
The giant Borg Cube was accompanied by a small fleet of smaller Borg ships. The smaller ships pursued the Oberth and Bumblebee transports, striking deadly blows to their hulls and warp nacelles.
Talmid screamed. "Take them out!" he pointed madly at the viewscreen, which showed the transports and their attackers. "Take them out! Destroy them!"
The Talmidon and the Confederation were the closest ships to the transports, but before they start moving, the giant cube locked tractor beams on them, immobilizing them.
"NO!" Talmid shrieked. "Modulate shields, random frequencies!" He looked to his comm officer. "Sam!" he yelled over the comm. "Ibugga! Lonewolfi, Mightyman, anyone! Destroy those ships!"
The Mercury sped towards the Borg ships, but was caught in a tractor beam as well. The other ships were also immobilized. Defeat was near.
Then a streak of torpedoes smashed into the Borg cube, disrupting the tractor beams long enough for the ships to escape.
"What- How? Who?" Talmid asked in wonder. A status report flashed on the viewscreen. "Its the PCG!"
5 ships warped into the battle. They were the PCG Milotic, Sonic Stripe, Astroea, Warm Front and the Paradox.
"Sir, the Milotic is hailing us." Dave Barker said.
"On screen." Talmid said. "H.D!" Talmid cried out happily as he recognized his Pheonix Command Group friend.
"We've arrived to help, Fleet Captain!" Captain Hakanndavid said. He wore a pheonix command uniform and had a huge smile on his face. "Those transports are safe, and Star Base 816 is ours!"
Hakann's fleet had destroyed the small Borg ships quite easily, and now every warship in the fleet was engaging the giant cube, which eventually exploded in a large white fireball.
The transports docked with Star Base 816, and the allied fleet finished off the Borg attackers.
Part 15
Grand Councilman Lonewolfli smiled gratefully at his allies in the conference room of the USS Canis Major, since the Confederation was damaged.
Talmid cleared his throat quietly and began reading the report. "Star Base 816 turned out to be not assimilated. All information was salvageable, including the blueprints to the Grand Councilman's flagship." Talmid raised his hand for silence. "But there is still one thing that requires attention..."
"... We have a prisoner."
Lonewolfli's jar dropped. "But I thought the Federation didn't take prisoners!"
"Nah." Talmid said. "A nasty fellow, he is. Was tearing down the bridge of Star Base 816 when our troops found him. He looked more like a space pirate, than a Borg person." Talmid lifted up a paper, which had front and side views of the prisoner.
Lonewolfli's jaw dropped again. "ITS THE GUY!" he shrieked. He started coughing.
Ibuggabugga and Sam handed him cups of water. Lonewolfli drank the water, and then tried again. "I'm positive that is the man who I saw before we evacuated 816!"
Talmid nodded grimly. "And that means that it isn't only the Borg involved in this. The space pirates are involved as well."
Mightyman jumped up from his chair. "Well, can we see him? Maybe get some information."
"He's in the brig, follow me." Talmid said. They left the conference room and walked to a turbolift. They crammed into the turbolift, and began descending to the bridge.
"The PCG ships have bigger turbolifts." Hakanndavid groaned as he squirmed in the narrow space he had between his friends.
At last the turbolift stopped, and they all stepped out. Hakanndavid paused and took a deep breath of fresh air.
Then they got to the brig, and Talmid rounded a corner when suddenly-
WHAP!
Something swung hard and Talmid fell to the ground.
"Ouch!" Talmid groaned. He got up and found himself in sickbay on a bed.
Sam walked over to him. "You were knocked out in the brig. We called security and got you here. You got a pretty big bump."
Talmid sat up, but Sam motioned for him to relax. "What, why, uh, what happened?" Talmid asked.
"The prisoner." Sammercury said. "He escaped."
Talmid blew up. "WHAT?!!?"
Part 16
"WHAT?!!?" Talmid shrieked. He turned away from Sam, who looked embarrassed.
Then Talmid stopped. He took a few shaky deep breathes. "Ookay, we lost the prisoner. So what?"
"So what?" Sam asked. "Fleet Captain, he had vital information, and now he knows what the inside of one of our largest ships looks like!"
Talmid groaned. "I know," he said.
Then he heard some shouts coming from outside the sickbay. Sam heard them too, and they both turned to look.
"Come on!" they heard a voice say. "It is imperative that I speak to the Fleet Captain immediately! Huh? I don't care about regulations, i must speak with him!" Then the doors to the sickbay opened and PCG Captain Hakanndavid entered.
"Hey!" a security guard said from behind him. "Hey, you can't go in there!"
"Yes he can!" Talmid yelled. The guard stopped, and Hakanndavid glared at him.
"Well, good news Talmid." Hakanndavid said. "Just your crew doesn't like it that-"
"The good news?" Talmid asked.
"Oh, right." Hakann said. "We received word from the Klingon Empire that they have found and captured a Federation escape pod." He said the word Klingon with some distaste, after all, the PCG and the Klingons had been at war for a while. "They are willing to give it to us, but only if the PCG withdraws its forces from the allied fleet."
Talmid's eyes tore holes through the wall in front of him. "That's outrageous!" he cried out.
Sam Mercury nodded. "I agree, but we need that prisoner. I'll go to the Klingons and try to negotiate."
"How?" Talmid asked.
"There is a favor that the Klingons still to need to repay me." Sam said with a twinkle in his eye. "Some time back, I took the USS Mercury and found a Klingon outpost under attack by Romulans."
"I heard this story before, and it was the Enterprise C, not the Mercury, and you couldn't have been there, it was a hundred years ago." Hakanndavid said.
"No, its true!" SamMercury argued.
"Enough!" Talmid roared. "Anyway, good luck with the Klingons. Meanwhile, I'll be headed back to the Talmidon. I have to be on the lookout for more Borg attacks."
"Oh, no you wont." Sam said. "You'll be staying here, while Commander Vermont takes the Talmidon out to combat the Borg in the Alpha Centauri system."
Talmid groaned, and lay back in his bed. He started thinking. 'I'll find a way to get there.' he thought. Then he found a solution.
Part 17
The USS Mercury jumped out of warp at Klingon Border Defense Section H6. A Vorcha, 3 B'rels, 3 scouts, and 2 K'vorts awaited the Federation Ship.
SamMercury beamed aboard one of the little outposts and was greeted by a Klingon Guard holding a disruptor. He motioned for Sam to follow him.
They arrived in a room. 3 Klingons were there and one was guarding a space pirate prisoner!
"Saam," the lead Klingon greeted him. "Saam!" he burst out laughing.
"We finally meet, once again! Glory upon you!" the Klingon said.
"Its great to see you again, Commander Gowrok." Sam said. "Now, I've come to negotiate for the prisoner. There is a change of plans, the PCG is NOT leaving the fleet."
Gowrok growled. "The PCG has no honor, they will leave the fleet or you will not have our prisoner!"
"Yours and the PCG's honor are the same." Sam said.
"How so?" the Klingon retorted.
"If you had honor," SamMercury said. "Then you would allow us to take the prisoner."
"That is honorless!"
"Remember the outpost at Ajilon Alpha?" Sam said. "It survived by the lives of 10 of my crew."
The Klingon looked at him.
"That's right, 10 of my crew died defending the outpost at Ajilon against the Romulans." Sam said. "And now I ask you in return for the lives that I lost, turn the prisoner over to us."
Gowrok nodded. "It shall be done." He smirked slyly. "But you must turn yourself over to us in exchange."
"Hey, thats against the terms-"
"You haven't heard our side of the terms." he raised his disruptor.
The Klingon counted to 10 and fired.
SamMercury disappeared in what seemed to be a fading hologram. Then the Prisoner was transported somewhere.
SamMercury sighed. "Transporter room?" he asked.
"We have the prisoner aboard sir." the transporter chief responded.
"Good." Sam responded.
"Captain, the Klingon ships are powering their weapons, 3 B'rels ahead!" an officer cried.
"Evasive maneuvers, fire weapons!" Sam ordered.
Blazer Phasers struck the Klingon ships. In a short while, the ships were destroyed.
Then the Vorcha came. It fired at the Mercury and blew part of it's starboard nacelle to oblivion. The Mercury returned fire, and the Vorcha was destroyed but with heavy damage to the Mercury.
"Captain!" an officer screamed. "We can't hold on any-" A nearby conduit exploded sending the officer flying to sickbay.
"Set a course for Federation space," Sam ordered. "Engage Warp Drive!"
The Mercury jumped out of the battle, leaving the debris of several of the Klingon ships behind it.
Part 18
The Hunting's begun
Acting Captain Gary Vermont sat slouched in the Captain's chair of the USS Talmidon. The current fleet was small, but had its direct orders:
Destroy all Borg Vessels
The Talmidon, Escargot, Defiance, Sonic Stripe, Tashi, and a few Galagas as well as other ships had arrived just outside the Yeridian system. The fleet was still awaiting the USS Mercury and other ships, but they had to get moving quickly.
Gary looked out the viewport for a long time. Then he sighed. "Dave, open communications with the fleet."
"Aye sir."
"We're moving out." Gary said. "Lets hunt some Borg."
The starships jumped into warp, with their long range scanners on for any Borg ships. It wasn't long till they discovered 3 Borg ships.
The fleet jumped out of warp and engaged the Borg.
The Galagas moved into position around two Behemoth ships and began a run for the Borg Cube. The Behemoths fired their heavy weapons and the Borg Cube blew.
The Ambassador Class and the SFS Escargot (the leading ship of its class) attacked the Borg Battle Sphere.
KA-BOOM!
The Sphere fired its spectre-like weapon and the Ambassador lost part of its forward saucer. The Escargot fired its canons.
The USS Talmidon, Tashi, Sonic Stripe, Defiance, and the SSF Snail's Revenge (another Escargot) began smashing the armor of the Tactical Cube. The Tactical Cube fired a cutting beam at the Snail's Revenge, and it exploded. The Tashi was hit shortly afterward, but didn't blow up. The Defiance's lasers disabled the Tactical Cube's weapons, and the Talmidon's deadly transphasic phasers tore the Borg Tactical Cube apart.
Gary smiled triumphantly. "We won here. Lets continue, engage warp drive!"
Meanwhile, a very weird officer who claimed to be from the Republic of the Yucationta Kalimpa (all made up by me) attracted some stairs as he walked down a large hallway in the USS Canis Major. Even weirder, his destination seemed to be the hanger bays...
Part 19
The doors to the hanger opened and the odd looking minifig stepped out. He peeked around cautiously and closed the doors.
He ripped off his phony beard and crumpled his hat. He pulled off his Yuction Calimpa (whatever its called, I made it up, lol) clothes to reveal his star fleet uniform.
Talmid sighed and walked towards a ship, a Merrimack Class Aeroshuttle.
Talmid smiled as he read the statistics of the shuttle in his mind. Maximum warp of 7, fast impulse speed, and superb handling.
He entered the shuttle and without authorization flew out of the USS Canis Major's hanger. It wasn't long before he received a hail from the starship.
"Shuttle Major 7, identify yourself." the voice said. "Please identify yourself." Talmid turned the comm off, he didn't want to talk anyway. Then suddenly the shuttle rocked, and two starfighters streaked by.
Talmid pressed buttons and a tactical screen showed two Star Stalker Class fighters swooping around for another pass. Talmid gritted his teeth and transferred auxiliary power to the shields. There was no way for a shuttle to outrun fighters, especially Star Stalkers.
The fighters came around and fired more warning shots, which streaked pass the fore and aft ends of the shuttle.
Then Talmid remembered that the Star Stalkers had no warp capability, and happily pressed the lever to jump to warp. The fighters wouldn't dare to try to disable the warp core, or they would be risking a warp core breach and immediate destruction.
Talmid's smile vanished as another shot disabled the warp core.
The Fleet Captain began evasive maneuvers and tried transferring power to the warp core. The core came back online but wasn't stable enough and was at risk of a breach. The fighters seemed to realize that too, and they maintained their distance.
Talmid realized that in order to get where he wanted, he had to take the chance. He engaged warp drive.
And his destination, the USS Talmidon.
Any captain knows that to protect his crew, he has to be in charge of the ship.
And Talmid didn't completely trust his First Officer with his ship.
Part 20
Back at the battle, a whole fleet of Borg Cubes, big and small, arrived out of transwarp.
The small cubes were armed with only one weapon, but from what Commander Gary could tell, it was powerful.
"Destroy the small cubes!" Gary ordered into the comm to all the other ships.
Too late. The Cubes fired their spectre-like (credit to Star_Hunter) weapons and with a few big booms, the shields of the Talmidon, Escargot, Defiance, and the Generations were down.
"Ibuggabugga, Hakann, get out of here!" Gary screeched. Immediately the Tashi and the Sonic Stripe turned away and jumped into warp, away from danger.
The others were not as lucky.
KAAA-BOOOOOOM!
The left-most engine on the Defiance exploded in a violent fireball. The Defiance's lasers were still firing like a storm on the small cubes, but they sustained the damage.
Gary wasn't going to give up. "All weapons fire, now!"
The Talmidon unfortunately was heavily damaged and several of its weapons were offline, and its targeting system was damaged. Phasers and Torpedoes shot out in all directions, only some hitting the Borg ships and others impacting with the remaining allied vessels.
"STOP!" Gary screamed when he saw the Defiance get slammed by quantum torpedoes on its aft, blowing more of its engines to pieces.
"Hey!" Mightyman yelled. "You blew my last engines!"
"Sorry, weapons are malfunctioning." Gary replied.
Mightyman grumbled and cut communications. "Fire at will!" He ordered, and more lasers and torpedoes shot out of the Defiance's banks and emitters. One of the small cubes eventually exploded, showering the battlefield with debris.
"Whoa!" Mightyman exclaimed. "That must have been a lot of armor on that thing!" He stared open-mouthed at his viewscreen which showed sections of the cubes armor flying out in all directions...
...several of them heading straight for the Defiance!
Part 21
The Defiance fired all of its weapons again, which blew apart some of the debris or diverting its course away from the crippled ship.
One piece of debris plummeted into the Defiance's leftmost part of its wing, which then exploded violently, disabling main systems of the vessel.
"Commander, the Generations is headed to the nearest system at impulse 6." Ensign Tylers said.
"Good, cover their escape at all costs, fire everywhere!" Gary ordered, and the command was done.
Lt. Kyle stared at the commanding officer, alarmed. "S- s- sir! The Defiance has lost life support and its artificial gravity is offline!"
"Beam them over, now!" Gary screamed.
"Not enough power, attempting to reroute!" The lieutenant gracefully moved his hands over his console. He would have succeeded if the Borg hadn't blasted the Talmidon at that moment.
"Aaurgh!" Kyle flew into the air as his console at the helm exploded with a shower of sparks. He fell to the ground, just short of the pillow piles at the back.
Dave ran to attend to him. "He's alive, but not stable!" he yelled. "I need a doctor, now!"
"Beaming over the Defiance's crew, Commander!" Tylers said. He typed and pushed some buttons. "Transport initiated!"
A few doctors suddenly materialized on the Talmidon bridge.
"Wha- Oh." Gary realized. "Excellent work, Ensign, uh I mean, Lieutenant."
"Thanks!" Brad Tylers said, beaming at his new rank.
The doctors began attending to the wounded Lt. Albert Kyle.
"He'll be alright." the main doctor said as he lifted him onto the pillow pile.
Then Mightyman stepped onto the bridge from the turbolift. "Hows the Defiance?! I can't leave her to be blown by the Boorg, I mean Borg!"
"Hey, you wont believe this, but the Borg have stopped attacking the Defiance and have selected alternative targets!" Tylers piped up suddenly.
"Then why'd you tell us?" Gary asked. "And what are the alternative targets?"
Tylers gulped. "Us and the Escargot."
Gary blew up. "THE ESCARGOT WONT BE ABLE TO SURVIVE A FULL SCALE BORG ASSAULT!!! BEAM THEM OVER NOW!!!"
"Yessir!" Tylers yelled back. He beamed over the Escargot personnel, and not to late. The Escargot's shell exploded and it drifted away slowly. "Now all Borg ships are attacking us!"
BOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
KABLOOOMIE!
*explosion*
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMIE!
KAAAA-BROOOOMBLA!
Explosions smashed all over the Talmidon, and hull breaches appeared everywhere. Then a bridge wall exploded.
Tylers flew with incredible speed to the hull breach. "NOOO! Not again, aaaaa-urg!" He collided into a force field. "Why meeee?" he wined.
Part 22
End is near
The ship rumbled as the Borg fleet closed in, firing their lasers as they went.
"You have an awesome ship here," Lonewolfli said as he stepped onto the bridge. "She's survived for a long time, and not to mention the pizza- Aah!"
Another explosion rocked the bridge, and everyone toppled over.
"Okay okay, don't worry, everthing'll be-" Gary started saying. "Wait, no, wrong thing to say. Ahem, prepare to evacuate all hands to the saucer section!" Gary ordered. "Transport those who are trapped into the safest area!"
"Aye aye-" *boom* "-sir!" Lt. Tylers said. He initiated the transporters. "Trapped crew in the safest room in the saucer! Other crew are making their way to the saucer as we speak- aaaah!"
Tylers' console went boom, and he flew off his chair and landed on the ground.
The MAF doctors ran to him. "He's alright, just unconscious. He'll be up shortly, if we survive." the main doctor said.
Mightyman took over helm controls. "All hands are aboard the saucer section, initiating saucer separation procedures, automatic."
Then another explosion rocked the bridge violently.
"Uh, that knocked out our automatic saucer separation stuff, we need to do it manually." Mightyman said.
Gary stood up and got back into his chair. "Make it so." He said while rubbing his head.
"The engineering section will fire all of its weapons to help distract the Borg while we escape." Dave said. "Firing all weapons."
Transphasic phasers and micro photon torpedoes and some anti-starfighter guns fired at the Borg, but many of the weapons were already destroyed. They didn't cause much damage to the cubes.
"Fire forward torpedoes and phasers, clear our way out." Gary ordered. He turned his head. "Wha- Lonewolfli, what are you doing?"
"Care for pizza?" Lonewolfli asked as he sat down on a chair holding a replicated pizza slice.
"Never mind." Gary sighed, then jumped up, alarmed. "That cube, its coming right at us! FULL PULVERIZATION CANONS!"
The large cube that had come in front of the Talmidon saucer was obliterated into many teeny tiny pieces by the incoming Pulverization Canon fire.
Gary relaxed and sat down on his chair.
"We've cleared the battle, but some cubes are still following us." Mightyman said.
"Set a course back to Earth, best possible speed." Gary said quietly. He realized he was tired. "I'll be in my quarters." He left, and the Talmidon saucer jumped to Warp 6, and counting.
Part 23
Many hours after the Talmidon Saucer escaped from certain doom, a lone Merrimack Class Aeroshuttle came out of warp before one of the greatest losses in Federation History.
Talmid studied the scene in front of him. "Computer, scan for life forms." he said, trying to keep his voice from wavering.
"Sensors detect no life forms." the computer replied.
Talmid gunned the engines on the shuttle and docked the shuttle in one of the hull-breaches of the wrecked USS Talmidon.
After exiting the shuttle and exploring around the corridors wearing a space suit, Talmid arrived at the Battle Bridge. Talmid stared in awe at the huge hull breach at the top of the bridge. He could see the starry blackness and distant galaxies of deep space, and just the sight made Talmid grow uneasy.
"Main power is offline, and has been for like, i dunno, a long time." Talmid said to himself. "It's a good thing that Merrimack Class Aeroshuttles also carry emergency power generators."
After getting back to the shuttle, Talmid flew it to main engineering, which was exposed to a large hull breach. Talmid flew in and began plugging the emergency power generators into the main power core of the Talmidon.
After a short while, emergency force fields turned on around the breaches, the structural integrity field reconnected the disconnected parts of the ship, and turned on life support, weapons, warp capability, and the other systems.
After making small repairs, Talmid made his way to the Battle Bridge, with all systems operational, and felt jubilant at commanding the Talmidon again.
By himself.
Part 24
It didn't always happen that First Officer Commander Gary Vermont's sleep was disrupted by the blaring red alert klaxon, but it happened this time.
"Must be something with being Acting Captain," Gary muttered under his breath as he walked back onto the bridge from the turbolift.
A crew with bandages and casts all over them greeted the First Officer, er, Acting Captain.
"Captain, the Borg have caught up with us," Lt. Albert Kyle said. "Four cubes."
"Fire aft torpedoes, full spread." Gary said as he sat down on the Captain's chair.
"Moderate damage to one of the cubes," Lt. Commander Dave said. "They are returning fire."
4 violent shakes and the sound of bending metal made its way to the bridge.
"Fire at will," Gary said. "Use whatever force necessary to-" A conduit explosion drowned Gary's words.
"Aaah, get away, get AWAY!" Lonewolfli shrieked as he waved his hands at the sparks that rained down on him and his pizza. At the same time, a console near the tactical station exploded as well, and Dave was thrown into the pillow pile.
Mightyman ran to the tactical station and took over while the MAF doctors looked at Dave.
Mightyman gasped. "The Borg- they- they're exploding!"
"On screen!" Gary yelled over the suddenly silent chaos.
The Borg cubes which had been pursuing them were exploding violently-
-to reveal the battle damaged engineering hull of the Talmidon!
"How-" Gary, Mightyman, Lonewolfli, and the other crew including Dave stared openmouthed at the viewscreen.
"Is it a virus that assimilated Borg ships will destroy their own?" Mightyman asked.
"Maybe," Lonewolfli said. "Unless perhaps-"
"Sir, they're hailing us!" Brad Tylers said.
"On screen!" Gary said. At first, he was overwhelmed, but now he was far ahead of that. "Captain!" He shrieked.
"Talmid!" Lonewolfli exclaimed. "How did you get here, and the Talmidon-"
"I'll explain later." Talmid said. "Right now, I think we would do better if the Saucer reconnected to the Engineering Hull."
"Right away sir!" Mightyman cried happily, and ran to an empty helm console. "Saucer un-separation commencing!"
Later...
With the Talmidon now more or less complete and Fleet Captain Talmid back, the crew decided to take more action against the Borg.
Talmid told all that happened, and then Gary, Lonewolfli and Mightyman told what happened when Talmid was gone.
"Now back to business." Talmid said. "Before I left the Canis Major, I took a peek at the ship's logs. Apparently, the rest of the fleet is currently headed to battle the Borg."
"Please continue!" Lonewolfli pleaded.
"We need to know." Mightyman added.
"the fleet is engaging the Borg at sector 001." Talmid finished solemnly.
"Earth!" Gary exclaimed. "No!"
"Why isn't the fleet attacking them somewhere else?" Lonewolfli asked.
"Because there's no way to make the Borg go somewhere else." Talmid said.
"You mean, the Borg are ALREADY HEADED THERE?!?!!" Mightyman yelled.
"Yes."
"NOOOOO! We must stop them!" Lonewolfli screamed.
"Big problem, however." Talmid said quietly. "There's an entire legion of more than 100 cubes out there. Borg Battle Spheres will keep the fleet from even getting near the cubes, which are carrying millions of drones, all ready to beam to Earth and, brr, assimilate it and everyone-"
"STOP!" Lonewolfli shrieked. "You're making me, uh, never mind."
Then Talmid smiled. "But that doesn't mean we're not going." Talmid said. "The Talmidon is the best in the Alpha Quadrant."
"Yeah!" Everyone else chorused.
Elsewhere...
SamMercury stared silently at his viewscreen. The Borg had an impressive fleet, and the sheer number of cubes, spheres, diamonds, triangles, and other geometrically shaped ships of badness made the sight scare anyone.
The fate of Earth was at risk, again. SamMercury, IbuggabuggaDalien, Hakanndavid, and several other Federation starship captains were present at Earth, and the Borg had just arrived.
"Arm photon torpedoes." Sam said grimly. His bridge crew complied. "Prepare to fire blazer phasers."
The Borg grew nearer, and the blue weapons on the Battle Spheres had already begun to glow.
"Fire."
The same one-word command was said on every other starship in the fleet, and within moments, photon torpedoes, quantum torpedoes, transphasic phasers, shmasers, blazer phasers, cutting beams, and other weapons were streaking across the battlefield at each fleet. Several ships were hit.
"Hull breach-" "Warp core is overloading-" "-aaughhh-" "-ayday mayd-" "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness into our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."
The battle went terrible for the Federation many ships were destroyed or damaged.
SamMercury wondered as he watched the bulkhead in front of him crumple. He watched as loose objects got sucked into the infinite vacuum of space. He felt the tug of it pull him from his chair. All the while, he was thinking. "This isn't right." he said. The hull breach became closer, and closer yet. "This isn't right."
Part 25
When all seems lost...
And then SamMercury flew into a force field, the only thing blocking him from infinite doom.
The Captain smiled gratefully, even more because his crew was all still there.
Not that it would have hurt them, after all, they are plastic.
Elsewhere in the battle, the Confederation took a direct hit to its port bow, blowing debris and flame all over. The USS Sovereign took the brunt of it and it's shields gave away. It exploded violently, sending more debris into the battlefield.
The USS Generations, Kosmos, and the crippled Confederation took the Sovereign's debris hard.
One by one, the Federation starships were disabled or destroyed.
Then what was least expected, happened.
The USS Talmidon! Wreck and Dirty (opposite of Proud and Glory) of the Federation!
It came roaring into the battle, with phasers, torpedoes, and disruptors?!
Two cubes were destroyed by Transphasic Torpedo hits, and their explosions sent shockwaves rolling through the battle.
"Damage report, Ensign." Talmid asked Tylers.
"Structural damage to our starboard wing pylon, the structural integrity field is all that's holding it together," Tylers answered. "And I'm a lieutenant."
"Oh."
KAAA-BLOOOOM-EEEE!!!
"Now what?!" Talmid yelled over the screeeeching of bending metal.
"The Borg have a tractor beam lock on one of our warp nacelles, its gonna blow!" Tylers screamed, and then a larger explosion.
"Suggestions?" Talmid asked.
"Why don't we do it, old fashioned way." Mightyman suggested.
Talmid wasn't sure what he meant. "How so?"
"Collision course!" Lonewolfli chimed.
"NooO!" Talmid shrieked. "I am NOT losing the Talmidon AGAIN!"
"Hm, maybe we don't need to lose the ship." Gary surmised.
"The warp core!" Dave yelled happily. He grinned an ear-to-ear smile. "We'll eject the warp core into the middle of the Borg fleet, and then it'll explode, and then they'll all explode!"
"Great idea, but I'm not riding it." Talmid said firmly, remembering an unhappy incident during the Undine War.
Part 26
Kabloooombiela!
Another one of those mean explosions rocked the Jefferies tube that Talmid and Lonewolfli were climbing through.
Talmid slammed his hand onto the Star Fleet combadge on his chest. "Gary, it's not working this way!" Talmid yelled through. "Continue with your plan, draw their fire away from the engineering section!"
"Yes sir, Gary out!" Gary replied.
The low rumbling of the saucer separating from the Engineering Hull was all that was felt for the next five seconds, then the rumbling and explosions ceased.
"That's a good sign, your commander has managed to keep the Borg away from us." Lonewolfli said. "Too bad the saucer is the only part of the ship with working replicators, I liked your pizza."
They slowly made their way to engineering and the warp core.
"This happens way too many times." Talmid muttered as he set the warp core to a breach and prepared to eject it manually. He turned around when he heard Lonewolfli gasp.
"Ta-talmid, there are B-B-Borg here!" Lonewolfli said quietly.
"What- oh." Talmid noticed a few drones beam into the engineering hull and begin working on consoles.
"Lonewolfli, no!" Talmid yelled as Lonewolfli drew out his phaser canon.
"Eat Phaser!" Lonewolfli yelled and fired on the Borg drones, who promptly fell to the ground, stunned.
"Now they'll think of you as a threat!" Talmid called as he continued working on the warp core.
"Ooops." Lonewolfli replied as he fired on more Borg that beamed into the engineering. "Hey, why are they only attacking me?! No fair!"
"Fine, let them get me." Talmid mumbled and drew his own phaser and began stunning other Borg. "That was a mistake!" he realized when twice the normal Borg beamed into the room.
"Lonewolfli, get that console, plot a course into the Borg fleet!" Talmid yelled.
"Yeah sir!" Lonewolfli yelled back and began working.
"The Warp core will blow in 2 minutes, you have to get us into the fleet in that time!" Talmid screamed as the Borg began adapting to his phaser fire. "I can't keep them away from you forever, please hurry!"
"Got it!" Lonewolfli chimed.
Talmid slapped his combadge. "Gary, beam us out!"
The Fleet Captain and Grand Councilman were beamed out and onto the Talmidon saucer's bridge.
Talmid returned to the Captain's chair and waited the engineering hull to explode, but it didn't.
"Oh no! The Borg disabled it!" Talmid shrieked. "Doesn't matter, aim for the warp core, fire a quantum torpedo!" Talmid ordered.
The Quantum Torpedo fired into the engineering section of the engineering hull. A bright flash erupted and the ship exploded.
Part 27
File:Wrath-of-the-Borg-part-27-1.jpg
The Talmidon's engineering hull blew into oblivion, the force of the warp core breach tearing itself, nearby Borg ships, and subspace apart in a terrible violent explosion.
Talmid gripped his seat bracing himself as the separated saucer section took part of the massive shockwave. He flew from his chair to the hard plastic floor and cracked something. The shockwave passed through the saucer, sending crew and loose objects flying and making the red alert klaxon scream wildly. Lights blinked, minifigs screamed, tortured metal snapping apart, consoles exploding, and sparks showering were all that happened in the next tense few seconds. Then it was over.
"Shields have failed entirely, sensors and weapons are offline, structural integrity at 12%," Dave said from his post at the Tactical Station. "however engines are still functional at 34%."
"Good," Talmid groaned as he picked himself up from the floor. A small crack had formed where he had smashed down. "The battlefield, on screen."
Everyone gasped. Wrecks of both Federation and Borg starships lay in ruin before them.
"Any survivors?" Mightyman gulped.
"Hey, turn around, I want to see that way!" Lonewolfli yelped, and jumped next to Lt. Tylers and Lt. Kyle's helm stations. He turned the ship leftwards, and more of the former battlefield was shown on the screen.
A fleet of at least 50 Federation starships greeted them, and Talmid sighed of relief.
"Sirs, we are being hailed." Dave said.
"On screen." Talmid and Gary said at the same time. They smirked at eachother.
"Hey Fleet Captain!" SamMercury's jolly smile appeared on the viewer.
"Hey conference me in already!" someone said on SamMercury's side of the transmission.
"In a sec," Sam replied, and pressed a finger on one of the buttons on his Captain's chair. An instant later, Captain IbuggabuggaDalien and Captain Hakanndavid appeared on the viewscreen as well.
Hakanndavid flashed a grin at the many faces on the Talmidon bridge. "Great to see you in one piece, er, I mean, well,"
Talmid laughed and fell smugly into his chair. "Later, okay?" he said, still chuckling.
"Yeah!" Ibugga shouted.
"And don't forget the pizza!" Lonewolfli added.
"And and, yes! The ice cream, and the 21st Century TV!" Mightyman chortled.
Brad Tylers rolled his eyes and turned his head. His gaze locked with his comrade Albert Kyle, who was also rolling his eyes. He stopped when he realized he was being stared at. The two Lieutenants looked at eachother, wondering. Is this how it always ended? And what would happen next?
THE END... or is it?
Epilogue
File:Wrath-of-the-Borg---Epilogue-1.jpg
2489
Fleet Captain Talmid stood staring out the window of Starbase Jefferson in orbit of Alpha Centauri. To a regular minifig passing by, it would appear the Fleet Captain was staring at a normal shipyard building normal MAF and SSF starships. But that wasn't all of it.
Talmid watched as the MAF Eagle and SSF Escargot were fixed up and left the shipyards, ready to return to their respective places. But beyond them, vaguely visible through the shipyards, was the jewel of Star Fleet, the crown and glory.
