Summary
The F-115 Star Cruiser (retroactively renamed B-115a Star Cruiser I) was launched in 2502 by USFI alongside the upgraded F-114b Star Falcon II and F-131 Star Phoenix, marking the start of Star Force's famous fighter trifecta.
With a crew capacity of three and reconfigurable external stores, Star Cruiser was intended from the get-go as a multirole-type craft yet capable of winning dogfights. Under Star Force operation, however, Cruisers were commonly stocked full of bombs in prep for anti-starship runs, where their enhanced sensor equipment assisted in dodging flak and circumventing enemy deflector shields.
Regardless of configuration, Star Cruisers quickly became famous for their heavy forward firepower (largely thanks to its powerful MP1350 turbocharged phasers) and unanticipated dogfight survivability even against lighter fighters. Formidable and favored, USFI eagerly began development on a superior fighter, resulting in the Star Cruiser II.
