Summary

When Crux was destroyed and the Darkitect released, a powerful new enemy was unleashed upon the universe, the Forces of Maelstrom. Corrupted by Maelstrom Energy or contrived from it for the sole purpose of serving the Darkitect's omniscient bidding, Forces of Maelstrom have one goal, to infect what can be transformed and destroy what cannot, stopping at nothing to conquer all of reality.

In an almost conventional army structure, the Forces of Maelstrom consists from obedient (if not mindless) frontline soldiers, such as most Stromlings, to sentient lieutenants bearing elevated intellect and calculated cruelty.
