He is the one responsible for bringing the Knights of the Old Speech to Morcia. When being confronted by the superior powers of thedude at his front gates, he looked in the yellow pages for some mercenaries to hire to bolster his relatively small and untrained army. The one he chose was The Knights Of The Olde Speech, for their extremely low rates. And so the story began...

Appearance:

Blonde hair, with strands of grey creeping in. Very visible in his full beard, which he keeps in good taste, even in hiding. Steel blue eye, which sometimes are mistake for steel grey. On the throne, he seemed very tired, and regal, but now, in hiding, he has appeared rejuvenated, and there is always a glint in his eye. His outer appearance of age is deceiving in battle, as the inner spark is still full of strength, and only enhanced by the experiences of his life.

Personality:

King Matthias has a calm and even temper. He is generally a very forgiving and kind person. He is often described as mellow-tempered. This is not to say he is lenient in discipline. His life has had many life changing events, but his kind heart, gentle temperament, and forgiving nature have always stayed the same.

Abilities & Powers:

As King of Morcia, he has a vast network of associates. While he may not posses any extremely powerful or unique abilities naturally, (save the exceptional swordplay and shield technique any proper King has,) chances are he knows someone who does, and owes him a favor.

-Matthias began his rule at an early age, after the sudden death of his father, King Marcus III. At first, he was an unsure ruler. He felt he could not measure up to the standards his father had left. Fortunatly, Matthias was not left alone. He had many helpers, the key ones being Lady Amelia of Calibus Tower, (who would later become his one and only wife,) and the Lord Vladek, a brilliant strategist, if a bit of a withdrawn one. These two, along with Matthias's naturally kind and gentle demeanor built a time of peace in Morcia. However, over the course of the years, Matthias and Amelia began to uncover a nefarious plot hiding behind this peace.
