He does not wield a weapon, preferring to fight using his fists and his alchemy respectively. Iamos' first appearance within the storyline was in the prologue of Foes and Heirs.

APPEARANCE:

Iamos has very dark brown hair, to the point that it looks black when wet or not in light. His eyes are a dark blue-green-grey, referenced as being similar to an ocean or a more metallic shade dependent on lighting. When it comes to clothing, Iamos generally wears shirts of varying colours (the most common being purple) and jeans. Circa Scattered Ashes, his outfit is covered by a beige/light brown coat that hangs down to his ankles.

PERSONALITY:

To someone who doesn't know him well, Iamos might come across as brusque, cold, and sometimes uncaring. However, this is less due to his personality and more due to his inability to express himself in a social situation and his struggle to read people's emotions. Any contradiction to an idea he has suggested or any retribution of an argument is often taken personally, and he often has to control his temper during such occurrences. However, Iamos is not without a tender side - he cares very deeply for his sister Azura, and once he warms up to someone he is loyal to them no matter what the personal cost might be.

ABILITIES AND POWERS:

Iamos' most significant ability is of course his alchemy , and his mastery of several branches of the art. His other significant attribute is his intelligence, with his high IQ and his habitual reading of factual books making for quite the strategical mind.

• Iamos is an extremely picky eater, disdainful of new foods no matter the situation.
• Iamos' social awkwardness and unique way of thinking stem from the fact that Iamos has Asperger's Syndrome.
• Iamos' mythological namesake is the son of the God Apollo; the name means "boy of the violets"
• This is a reference to the colour purple which, incidentally, is Iamos' favourite colour.
• The alchemy that Iamos practices is based on a combination of Chinese Philosophy, medieval European practices and the namesake art practiced by characters in the "Fullmetal Alchemist" series.
• The surname "Wilder" is a reference to the character Alex Wilder, a character from Brian K. Vaughan's and Marvel's "The Runaways".
• The surname "Wilder" is Anglo-Saxon in origin, based on the pre 10th Century "wild-eor" which literally translates to "wild animal".
