So, I has question
How much did that one Star Wars game affect Strider?
In Knights of the Old Republic 1, Strider ended up being a near perfect lightside jedi, even though he repeatedly tried to reject the force, not beleiving in 'that Jedi Mumbo-Jumbo.' Â I think he even might have said someting like that to the Council's faces, and their response was something like, 'You'll come around, the fate of the Galaxy is at hand'.Â
In the MMOG, Star Wars, the Old Republic, (which takes place a 100 or so years after teh other game, but I played this first, :P) Â I played Stirling as a Republic Commando. Â As a Soldier, I played him progressively from naive to hardened. The game is Story-Driven, and has Lightside - Darkside choices, but sometimes those choices didn't make sense, such as one mission where if you don't rat out two Jedi who are courting, it's considered Darkside, while I consider it good that they are falling in love.
Still, I will admit that Stirling the Soldier made some choices that I would not make. Such as, when he has to chase down his old squad, which defected to the Empire, Stirling kills almost all of them rather than inprison them.
But, I make a clear distinction between LEGO Universe Stirling, and Star Wars Stirling. And that is Family. LU Stirling has a good family, and was 'brought up in the way he should go, While Star Wars Stirling... has an ambiguous family that he hasn't kept in contact with after his teens, I suppose. Never given it much thought. Thought both LU and SW Stirlings believe battle is too often the answer to things. Both believe justice must be served no matter the cost, and that imprisoning evildoers is pointless unless you're getting something out of them. Such as community service, information, or bait.
EDIT: There arn't alot more Story-driven games out there that are not Star Wars games. If I knew about any, I'd probably take a look at them, because I'd totally love to play Strider in another universe other than Star Wars...
Any more questions? :)
No, thanks. It's just..my mental issues would literally make me delete this entire wiki if that had actually affected the Strider that we interact with in KOTOS. If you think that's severe, you should see how much it's me delete in the past.
