Summary

Renowned for its powerful punch but becoming obsolete, Star Force pilots desired a replacement for their aging Star Cruiser IIs. Enter USFI's B-515c Star Cruiser III, bringing the legendary bomber into Star Force's fifth-generation.

Compared to its predecessor, the Star Cruiser III brought in a far more streamlined while at the same time more rugged design. External weapons racks for carrying bombs were deleted and replaced with a new technology, the Replicating Bomb Bay that could output a far greater supply of ordnance than previously conventionally mountable. As for standard weapons systems, while the Cruiser III sports fewer dedicated turrets than its predecessor, the pair of new MP1650s flanked by four MP1550s successfully exceeds the forward firepower of the older craft. The forward torpedo launcher and its stores are also enlarged.

Once again a force to be reckoned with, the Star Cruiser III remained in service long enough to be reclassified as the sixth-generation B-615c in 2516, until the launch of its successor, the Star Cruiser IV, in 2518.
