Wait...I just had an idea... (Insert maniacal laughter here)
Now, this kinda requires working with you (no duh Theo! Get to the point!)
Simmons!
(sorry)
But I was wondering if you would like to do a sorta crossover at the beginning of the second book. My worlds can change direction in an instant, this idea was...spontaneus. (And dumb)
SIMMONS! SHUT UP!
But basically, what if James met Stirling and or Perry at the other side of the gateway, stuck with him/them for a bit, then was found by Theo, got into an argument with him, beaten up, and dragged back to Chanora to fix the problems he created?
As far as I've written or mentally planned out, Perry and Stirling have not got through any dimentional gates (at least, during their adventues on militeregnum.)
By 'second book' do you mean the currently unnamed book that comes after Perpetual Doom and Scattered Ashes? Because as of yet, there are no set plans for that. We still need to finish SA before we go onto that. (and it will be AWESOME, I'm certain.)
These issues aside, I would totally pay cash to see Perry take a trans-dimentional trip. :P
EDIT: I might have misunderstood you. Do you mean your characters are going to make a Trans-Dimentional Gate (which I am going to abbreviate to TDG, to avoid carpel tunnel, :P ) into the Kotos Universe? Or a TDG which goes into the future of the same timeline, which would be the kotos universe all along?
I mean, at the end of Dianara, when James opens that gate and exits it, he ends up, like you said, in the KOTOS Universe. When I said Second book, I meant of the Chanoran books. I don't want to mess with your main storyline too much, especially during Scattered Ashes, and even afterward. The truth is, unless you guys wanted to include some of Chanora, well, I was kinda hoping to have James fade into the background with the following major spoilers scene
âI didnât abandon Chanora by choice, Theo.â James said. âI left because I failed. I snapped under the strain. I canât doâ¦it anymore. Iâm not looking for a break, or escape. Iâm looking for a replacement.â James began to lose his straight face. âA replacement for me. You donât know much about me, Theo. You were a friend of mine, but, Iâm not simple as you think. I need to leave.â Tears began to pour down his face. âI donât want to. Youâve never seen me cry, have you? Well, now you have. Look, Chanora is my planet. Itâs the ONE HOME IâVE EVER KNOWN! BUT I CANâT STAY! I CANâT DO THIS, whatever it is. I want to, Theo. But I have to leave that Dimension, and everyone I know. I have to seal it off from here.â James held out his Walther to Theo. âTake this. It doesnât belong here.â
âWhy are you giving me your pistol, James?â
âBecause youâre my replacement, Theo.â Theo began to protest, but James continued. Â âYou take my job. And when it becomes too much, give that thing to someone else who can take the strain. But no matter what, DONâT DO WHAT I DID! Because, God removed that mark from my soul. But he didnât undo my action. I chose to do wrong, and now the consequences will be felt by all in that dimension. I canât afford to make that kind of mistake again. So Theo, good luck. Oh, and, one more thing.â James reached to his wrist and unstrapped his watch. âThis thing will take you where you want to go, tell you what you need to know. Youâve got things from here. So goodbye, Theo.â James began to close the gateway with his Janra.
âWait, James, we need your help! JAMES! STOP! PLEASE!â Theo cried, as the dimensional energies began to pull him back towards Chanora.
âSeeya round, Theo. â
At this moment, the gateway closed with a thunderous clap. James smiled slightly, and turned towards Stirling and Perry.
âThis outfit wonât blend in here. Where can I get a sword and some simple clothing?â
