Summary

Leek Works is a vigilante organization based in Nimbus Station founded by Aiden Talmid, Luke Mercury, and Mara Mercury. Despite its founders active service when conceiving the organization, Leek Works was intended to run independently from the Nexus Force and as obscurely as possible.

Location

Since 3026, the base of Leek Works operations is a decrepit building in Downtown Nimbus Station, formerly the site of a laundromat in the ground floor of an old mall built against a cliff face, with the front door on the building's alley side. By 3031, the site had expanded into multiple floors, the neighboring buildings, and subterraneously into the cliff.

History

The site was largely abandoned until October 3028, when Leek Works members became aware of the Maelstrom Dimension threat and the existence of Teenyweeny, then referred to as the Future Dimension. Within Flumberfluff, Leek Works hosted the center of resistance operations against the Maelstrom invasion.

After the Dimensional War's end, Leek Works founders unofficially disbanded the group. Despite leaving the site abandoned until 3031, during this time Aiden, Mara, and Luke continued working with the Nexus Force's official transdimensional operations.

Leek Works was reconvened in 3031 and transdimensional operations recommenced fully and purposefully independent from the Nexus Force. The site was expanded during this time.

Location

Since 3026, the base of Leek Works operations is a multi-story building in Downtown Nimbus Station, expanded in all directions from the former site of an old mall. Built against a cliff face, much of the expansion work is subterranean.

History

While initially founded as an independent operation, subsidization by the Nexus Republic began immediately after the Maelstrom's defeat in 3026, coinciding with the enaction of Research Into Other Realms.

Eventually, despite disagreement among the founding members, Leek Works was completely nationalized into the official transdimensional division of the Nexus Republic in 3031, leading to Luke Mercury's departure from the organization.

Despite receiving additional funding, missions, staff, and old Nexus Force tech, including the Ring Unverse Breacher, the conscription came with stifling regulations and disenchanting administrative scrutiny, including pressure to change the name, which Intrepid Fusion Eclipse successfully resisted.

Notable Operations

The Figdroids

Leek Works assisted with observing the growth and development of the Figdroids Project subjects, the twins Jay and Katie Studs. In 3040, Intrepid Fusion Eclipse personally initiated skill checking and combat training Jay and Katie.

Transdimensional Operations

With the blessing of Doctor Overbuild, Leek Works pioneered the achievement of Transdimensional travel through Maelstrom-induced Unverse breaches. They started with an old piece of Nexus Force tech, the Ring Unverse Breacher that was co-developed between Assembly and Paradox, that used Maelstrom ore to induce Unverse breaches. Verbina Ingram reverse engineered it into a handheld personnel device, the Unverse Manipulator.

Since 3033, the organization has hosted Research Into Other Realms.

Summary

Leek Works is a private organization founded by Aiden Talmid, Luke Mercury, and Mara Mercury in 3026. Originally formed on Avant Gardens, as of 3028 it is located in Nimbus Station since the purchase of real estate there.

The base of Leek Works operations is a decrepit building in Industrial Nimbus Station on 56 Unemployment Road, formerly the site of a laundromat. The site is also the ground floor of an old strip mall built against a cliff face, so mostly subterranean, with the main entrance on the building's side.

The goals of the organization are supporting disadvantaged fighters, developing technology to better the universe, and solving mysteries. The organization specializes in self-production, computer system hacking, and transdimensional research.

Site Plan

Front Room

The location has an unremarkable front room with hanging screen dividers, an unfinished concrete floor, white painted walls, and some wood furnishings. The dreariness of the room is meant to discourage trespassers, however hidden behind the walls and under trapdoors are weapon caches.

Old Server Room

Behind the room dividers is the old server room featuring rows of tables topped with laptop computers. Two separate entrances to the circumferential hallway and three storage closets are accessible from this room.

Circumferential Hallway

The circumferential highway, also called the spiral hallway because of its irregularly curved path, follows a 270 degree turning path dug into the cliff with many rooms and small halls extending off it on both sides. Notable rooms include Aiden's Office, the Site Library, the New Server Room, the Basement entrance, and more storage closets.
