The &#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;Falcon IV&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039; design deliberately decreased armaments, losing two MP750 phasers compared to the preceding [[USFI Star Falcon III|&#039;&#039;Star Falc&#039;&#039;on &#039;&#039;III&#039;&#039;]], in minimal compliance with the Federation&#039;s demilitarization campaign following its unpopular wars. The design otherwise remaining unchanged from the well-optimized &#039;&#039;Falcon III&#039;&#039; frame.<br /> <br /> The &#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;Falcon IV&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039; marked the last of the heavy Star Falcons based on the original and largely unchanged design of the first &#039;&#039;[[USFI Star Falcon|Star Falcon]]&#039;&#039;, already 12 years old at the time of the &#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;IV&#039;&#039;&#039;&lt;nowiki/&gt;&#039;s&#039;&#039; launch.<br /> <br /> Despite USFI&#039;s best efforts to quickly convert the experimental &#039;&#039;[[USFI Star Falcon L|Star Falcon L]]&#039;&#039; frame into a production fighter craft, and while facing in-house competition from the contemporary [[Star Phoenix IV]], legacy would defer leadership unto the &#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;Star Falcon IV&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;.
