New page

-

-It's that old?

-Didn't say he wouldn't want to.

-

-

-Seems reasonable.

-I'm not saying that stashing it would have been better necessarily. I just love how this series of events ends up bringing to light all the problems with the choice Stir and Thingguy made (if Thingguy can't find Stir, he can't get the comm; Thingguy leaves it all up to Stir not losing it; what with all the travelling he does, it's definitely in not the safest of positions; if Stir continues being so reckless, then it's definitely in danger). In the end, it only survived because of luck (and tower power, which Peragrine provided though, rather than Stirling).

-Ts ts ts

-Yeah, I see. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you've planned.

-

-Yeah I remembered it originated from Talmid's map and I'll probably have to just accept that what's done is done now. And excuse me, ''I'' knew about the Troll Bridge. I wrote that after all. This takes place in 9-10 Yt doesn't it? You say that the bridge is broken, but I believe it was intact in the Felix Fitzwillis story in 5 Yt. What's your story behind this? Does it need for the bridge to have been broken before that?

-I wouldn't say it's a pacing problem per se and I wouldn't say it didn't entirely work. I think it was a very good attempt overall, it just stumbled a little towards the end.

-Interesting.

-Serves me right for not doing my research properly. I thought to search the flintlock pistols to make sure you were indeed referring to the Buccaneer gear, but then I dismissed that thought. Though you do bring up a good question. Even though I think so myself, I believe I too have had people using Paradox Rogue gear who aren't trained with it. I don't remember how skillfully they did, but it was probably good enough for them to achieve something with it.

-

-

-"This made it very unlikely, but not impossible, that they were not allied with Vladek either":

Allied with Vladek: Allied with Vladek

Not allied with Vladek: Not allied with Vladek

Unlikely they were not allied with Vladek: (likely they were) allied with Vladek

Not Impossible that they were not allied with Vladek: (Possibly) not allied with Vladek

I interpreted the sentence as what it means. Stir seems to make the conclusion that since they were not allied with thedude, then they must be allied with Vladek. But I also get that that's probably not what you were going for, which is why I asked in the first place.

-That's confusing, but I guess that's the point.

-Legoboy doesn't count, because he's not dead yet. He only counts from SA onwards. Sir Squid is, I believe, the only actually dead, confirmed dead KOTOS at that time and he didn't even die in the Battle of the Skyfalls (which I make a big deal of, because usually it's that time people make a big deal of). I've been looking at the list of KOTOS sometimes looking for some names I could kill off as part of the battle, but never actually confirmed anything in any story.

-I mean I'm not asking for the queschons to be answered. I'm just here saying they're actually working and making me interested in the characters and what's going on.

-Nokia Stir

-The meeting happening in SA would just not feel as satisfying. There's not a lot of time left for before it seeing as soon after this story, Jonna is going to be captured (unless somehow he meets her in the Moorlands prison). Plus, I think it'd be a bit hard for both Kal and Stir to meet her. Partly, because it would possibly be problematic for the Jonna continuity to meet other members of the resitance like herself and know they're resisting for she'd probably do something about it. After all, TLJ starts off with her going off to find allies. Kal wouldn't be likely to move outside of Ankoria, too. I think most possible for her would be to meet with Sara during some of the earlier years of her storytelling careers, cause in later years I think she might have settled a bit more in northwestern Morcia or in an even narrower area possibly. But that's to ponder about on another day.

-Don't know, it just seems out of place. Either you give someone your name and then let them discover nicknames themselves or you're basically saying "I'm Kalaren, but friends call me Kal", which is essentially saying, "I consider you a friend", which seems going a bit too far a bit too fast for a prisoner they just caught. There's also the possibility of having internalised it so much that you'd of course introduce yourself with the nickname, but then you might not even use the full name in the first place.

I get how he's trying to be kind like Egbert, but it still seems weird to me.

I'm glad you see it this way. I guess I've grown this tendency of making "good" comments, which involves making them specific to what you're commenting on. I didn't always make this point-by-point commentary consciously (e.g. I think it happened naturally with that time in Dimensions), but I do try to aim at this kind of thing. So I'm glad you appreciate it and also I appreciate it when you reply. Especially to long ones like this.
