Thingguy's multiplicity was caused by an encounter he had with thedude shortly before the events of the prologue, where thedude smashes Legoboy. Thingguy and Legoboy had been in possession of the grammar sword and Thingguy attempted to fight thedude with it. The power overwhelmed his feeble psyche, and Thingguy was essentially split in two. The sword was launched through a wormhole to an unknown location, but Legoboy had a tracker on it in case something like this happened, and he drew a map (not the same map Mathias wants).

thedude captured one of Thingguy's halves, who did not entirely remember what happened, and tortured him into revealing Legoboy's knowledge and location. The other half escaped but his mind was incapable of comprehending what had happened to him and blocked out a substantial portion of his immediate past. thedude found the map on Legoboy's remains and gloated about it to Talmid-Thingguy, which is how Talmid-Thingguy knew about it and snagged it on his way out of prison.

When the two Thingguys are in the same place, it causes a dimensional rift, which is what got Lucas sick. On their shared quest to find Jonna, they were going to remember what happened, merge, and then create an "off-screen" trans-reality explosion that would be the setup for the third story, as pretty much any plot device I wanted could wander through it (it was also the deus ex machina in Rhoddwr Marwolaeth). After the new Thingguy found Jonna, the two of them would go off to find the Grammar sword, which Talmid-Thingguy had forgotten about due to his unstable existence.

The map Mathias was looking for was the map to Vladek's super-secret fortress, which is where he was building a super-secret army to usurp thedude. The KotOS would launch an assault on the fortress (don't remember what I called it), which would fail miserably until Jonna and Thingguy arrive with the Grammar sword. Jonna wields it, easily containing its power, and becomes the new Swordbearer and basically the most powerful minifigure in the universe (yay feminism and powerful female figures). She succeeds her father Mathias as monarch.

thedude mysteriously disappears (see Rhoddwr Marwolaeth).

KotOS then rebuilds and recruits, restoring life and vitality to Morcia.

End with a quote about "from even the most scattered of ashes the most powerful of Phoenixes may rise."

I did plan this one out quite a bit.

I don't quite know why, but I guess I like the Jonna-Grammer Sword idea as well! :P Besides, the sword in itself isn't evil, it's just been used for evil thus far because it's wielder was TheDude.
