Of course, Imagination comes in material forms! What's the Nexus made of after all? After some consideration, I have also come to the conclusion that there are Figoroniums, the Imagination equivalent of photons. Though I am having second thoughts on the way material Imagination should be implemented in my story, I do not doubt its existence. Perhaps, the comparison to the Force was not good, as it seems to be more confusing than clarifying. What I mean to say is that Imagination and Maelstrom are Forces, in the full sense of that word. They are the causes of results, they possess the power to act, to change. The word 'force' might remind you of the invisible incomprehensible Force of Star Wars or to the physical forces that are again hard even to define. However, it's also a word that has the meaning of army and more generally a group of people with a collective purpose and collective acting. With that I mean to say that my use of the word Force does not necessarily mean that Imagination and Chaos are intangible and invisible. At the same time, though, the fact that they have a physical side doesn't mean they are only physical. The example of Ithen shows us that there can be entities of Imagination or Chaos that are purely spiritual.
HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING NO ATTENTION TO THE STORY OF a MINIFIGURE AT ALL? :P Does the word Ganium ring any bells? It seems to me that without the Return of the Sorcerer (which I do not feel is absolutely unlikely, though I'm not going to worry about this now) there is no way the Enchantment could return full-force for anything longer than a short period of time, and that with great effort. For that reason, I don't think this is a discussion over whether the Enchantment is compatible to the Post-PD story. Neither do I think its aim is understanding Dewin. I don't need the details of it to understand who Dewin is and I have to admit I've written his introduction chapter months ago -I've only been waiting for Drum to finish his... I think we ''are ''trying to understand the effects of the Enchantment (though I'm not certain that's the same as understanding what exactly the spell was). Why are we trying to understand it, though? Because Talmid asked about gunpowder. Now, I don't know why he's asking, though I suspect it has to do with the AM he's discussing and Leek Works' arrival at Militiregnum, but aside from trying to help out Talmid, I am only doing this for the fun of debating and forming the KotOS background.</ins>

New page

Stirling Silverstine wrote:
How dare you use my own words... against... Yourself? :P Also, I think I was just the first one to use it in a story. The idea had been thought out before that by others in comments. In the beginning it was purely an arbitrary spell that stopped technology beyond the medival from working.

I guess I made it a Power-stopping spell specifically.

Concerning Imagination and Maelstrom being likened unto the Force, I must disagree. Just as you have your philosophy, I do too. :P I put some thought into it for a Sequal to Imagination Infection that was never realized.Â

I consider Imagination to be a source of raw power. A physical substance that can take on many forms. Gaseous, Liquid, Even solid. Yes, every minifigure has imagination, in the form of a creation spark, and I have adopted the idea that Minifigures also have hints of Chaos as well, and that's part of what makes them ''not'' Mythrans.

I also consider Maelstrom to be a substance. Mist, gelatinous, and solid, like Maelstrom-Infected Bricks. In the story that was never realized, Wisp Lee finds a way to generate power from Maelstrom sludge, as an alternative to simply wasting it, and as a way to help with the expanding need for power in the rapidly growing Nimbus City. He argues it's a safe way for consumers to generate power. In my notes I parallel them as "Nuclear Maelstrom" and "Imagination Electricity".

From this point of view, I find it difficult (but not impossible) for the Sorcerer to ban ''only'' electricity. In fact, I find it difficult for him to ban any sort of energy at all, without smashing all the minifigures on the planet, if we agree that every minifigure has elements of Imagination and Chaos inside them.

Some good questions to ask:  Are we trying to figure out ''exactly'' what sort of spell the Sorcerer cast so that we can effectivly write Dewin and his knowledge? Or are we figuring out how to make the spell viable to the story? Because if it is the latter, then perhaps the spell should fade altogether from the story, because we shouldn't have to force it. I find it entirely acceptable if thedude has been able to circumnavigate the curse, whatever it's parameters are, over the course of 15 years.

HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING NO ATTENTION TO THE STORY OF a MINIFIGURE AT ALL? :P Does the word Ganium ring any bells?
