Following the upset at Avant Gardens, Maelstrom Dimension air and space forces were deployed in the Block Yards with the goal of saturating the small worlds and gaining strategic positions on the rocketway to Nimbus Station. Maelstrom forces advanced through the Block Yards claiming empty properties and overrunning those with too few defenders. Small battles were fought in heavily populated properties such as the Fun Party Place.

Empty and evacuated Block Yards around those already claimed by the Maelstrom were bombed to oblivion by the Avant Gardens air force, limiting the Maelstrom's territorial expansion and staving advancement, while Nexus Force space battleships were recalled from the Outer Worlds to take the battle into the infected zone and engage the Maelstrom there.
